Overview

Dueling Modems offers real-time Chat using the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) protocol. Most of our Forums host Chats for their members, and the Chat Forum hosts general interest Chats most nights of the week.

To access Chat, you'll need to download and configure IRC software; several IRC applications for PCs and Macs are available from the Chat Forum and from DM's Software Warehouse.

Connecting

To connect to our Chat services, use these options:

Server Name: irc.dm.net
Port: 6667

To connect from America Online (AOL):

Server Name: www.dm.net
Port: 4000

What's When?

To find out when Chats are happening, check these sources:
  • The Chat Schedule lists regular weekly Chats for all Forums

  • The Chat Discussion Groups have more information on upcoming events; to stay current, subscribe to:
    dm.chat.announcements
