CNYRW is an active affiliate of Romance Writers of America, a non-profit trade association of approximately 9,000 members with more than a hundred local, international, and online chapters. We meet once a month at the Liverpool Public Library in Liverpool, NY to exchange thoughts and ideas on the state of the industry, share in critiquing sessions, and attend our monthly writing workshops. Founded in 1988, our group includes members from all over Central New York.
CNYRW members share a closeness that comes of being kindred spirits. Each of us has spent his or her time struggling through the solitary process of creation, submission, hope, and rejection. We thrill with each other's successes, cry with each other's disappointments, bolster each other's confidence, and cheer each other on. We invite you to explore our website and see what our chapter has to offer. Feel free to send us an E-mail or a letter if you have any questions at all. We hope to meet you soon.
CNYRW connects you with your readers. Romance lovers can find out what you write, what awards you have won, and when you are releasing your next book. CNYRW will help you spread the word about your books, cheer you on with each success, and help you continue to publish your work. We can provide valuable contacts within the industry to help further your career.
We can help you on the road to publication with informational meetings, special events, and a supportive community of fellow authors. Visit our About Us and Special Events pages to learn about upcoming events, and our Links page for informative resources!

Our chapter members mourn the loss of our founder and dear friend, Jane O'Connor. The members of our chapter owe a debt of gratitude to Jane for establishing what has become a corner stone in our writing careers, the Central New York Romance Writers, Romance Writers of America Chapter #94. Today we have 55 members throughout central NY, published in multiple genres, with authors hitting the NY Times and USA Today bestseller lists.
Back in 1988, local romance writers didn't have a way to meet each other. Jane founded our chapter and put ads in the Pennysaver, drawing an ever-growing group of authors. Members gathered once a month at the downtown Library at first, and now the Liverpool Public Library. She helped organize our first small conference, bringing in published authors to teach and inspire us. She edited our first newsletter. Jane's success in building CNYRW has led to success and inspiration for our writers. She will be missed. ~ June 2012
