VOLTRON TV vs. Comic Character Comparison

Note:  As a comparison, this section necessarily contains spoilers to the show and the comic.  This page has sections still needing to be completed.

ALLURA

TV:   Allura's mother died when Allura was very young, how exactly is unclear.  According to the show, Zarkon and Alfor fought in the Valley of Zohar and Alfor fell in battle.  There is a sense that Alfor's death came when she was fairly young in the TV version as well, and she was raised by Coran.  She does not hesitate to be called by her title here, and also started out with less aptitude for flying, though she was said to have the desire since her younger years (at least according to the THIRD DIMENSION series).  After Sven is injured and sent to Planet Ebb, Allura felt it to be her responsibility to fight for her people's freedom over the objections of Coran and her Nanny.  Over time, Allura fell in love with Voltron Force leader Keith, winning the approval of King Alfor... who still communicates with her as a ghost through his own powerful magics.  However, for reasons left to be explored, Allura and Keith have returned to more of a "business only" attitude in THIRD DIMENSION.

COMIC:  Both her parents were murdered by Zarkon when she was about six.  She and Lotor grew up in contact in their early years when his father came to Arus on diplomatic business, all the while plotting to unleash his terror.  She's lived raised by Coran, refusing to be called Princess, until she can truly be a ruler who can care for her people.  Her deceased father, Alfor, is still able to communicate with her, at least in dreams.

CORAN

TV:   The castle diplomat who over protectively watches Allura.   His own wife, Leda, and son Garrett are presumed deceased.

COMIC:  Coran tries to protect Allura like she were his own child, and also out of service to his Princess who refuses to be seen that way.   He is a retired combat instructor from the Royal Army.
